Respa Mattress History
Founded in Oldcastle Co. Meath way back in 1947, Respa is a leading Irish manufacturer of mattresses for both the domestic market in Ireland and across the world. As far back as 1965 Respa manufactured spring interior mattresses with raw materials including flock and fibre. Then in 1999, Respa became the first manufacturer to produce pocket springs in Ireland, with Swiss engineered Sphul Machinery. To this day dozens of manufacturers rely on 'Spring Castle' Pocket Springs to create their own mattresses.
In 2003 Respa introduced Visco Pocket and Visco Bonnell memory foam mattresses into their product portfolio: the Respa Visco Bonnell 700 Mattress and Respa Visco Pocket 700 Mattress are great examples of how this technology has developed over the years by introducing the latest technology such as Memory Foam.
